Hello, Aunt Flo

She's back, but she's not being too hard on me this time, at least. Either way, I never enjoy her arrival. It kind of reminds me of that song "Hello Mr. Heartache" by the Dixie Chicks. So, for your viewing pleasure, here is my version of that song, retitled "Hello Dear Old Aunt Flo":

Hello, dear old Aunt Flo. I've been expecting you.
Come in and wear your welcome out, the way you always do.
You never say if you're here to stay, or only passing through.
So, hello dear old Aunt Flo. I've been expecting you.

Just when I get my hopes up high that there's a baby on the way,
You send me loads of cramps before you show your ugly face.
My LP never lasts longer than fourteen days at best
It's day sixteen and you show up just before I take the test.

So, hello dear old Aunt Flo. I've been expecting you.
Come in and wear your welcome out, the way you always do.
You never say if you're here to stay, or only passing through.
So, hello dear old Aunt Flo. I've been expecting you.

I wish that I could tell you bye for a nine month vacation,
But here you are month after month to spoil all of my plans.
I want to trade my pads out for a lovely bassinet,
Instead I get to trade it out for just another pad.

So, hello dear old Aunt Flo. I've been expecting you.
Come in and wear your welcome out, the way you always do.
You never say if you're here to stay or only passing through.
So, hello dear old Aunt Flo. I've been expecting you.

I've been expecting you.
Yes, I have been dreading you.
But, I've been expecting you.

Wow! You have a wonderful way with words, that are equally raw and poignant. Your lyrics struck a big chord in my heart! That's exactly how I feel every time AF turns up - expectation and complete dread. I am now on CD34, anxiously awaiting my next period to arrive in the next 5 days or so. Yet hoping it will never come! And AF always comes the day AFTER I do my pregnancy test! Sometimes I feel like somebody's messing around with my life!

No matter how unwelcome Af is, it means another chance to make a baby is around the corner. Keep your chin up! And continue with the dong quai, since your body is very receptive to its effectiveness. I heard that a couple receiving treatment from the Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic I am attending had just conceived after being on the herbal+acupuncture treatment for 2 months. There's hope for us!

BTW, thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I will check out that book you recommended. And best of luck to you on your next cycle! Baby dust all the way!
