Starstruck

have you ever seen a celebrity? not necessarily an A-lister, like julia roberts, but somebody that's a somebody? how would you react? what would you say?

me? i would say nothing. that's right, i would completely freeze up and stand there like a stiff idiot, arms straight at her sides, mouth stuck in a stupid grin. you'd think that when meeting a NY times best-selling author an aspiring writer would have tons to say, lots of questions to ask, advice to get...but not me.

yesterday i photographed an event for work that included laura lippman. so cool! at the end of the event, i was able to buy a copy of her newest book, the most dangerous thing, and have her autograph it. i stood in line for 30 minutes (we had a huge crowd of people show up for the program) to meet her and get her to sign my book. that's enough time to come up with something clever to say, or at least a simple question, but my mind was completely blank during the entire wait. when i finally got my turn, she said hi and asked my name. i was able to overcome my sudden bout of shyness just long enough to answer her, but after that i froze up again. it was so embarrassing! she probably thought there was something wrong with me...mentally, ya know.

oh well. what're ya gonna do?

LOL! I met Niecy Nash one day in the Macy's shoe department. I ran up to her, threw my arms around her and gave her a huge hug. Then, I proceeded to explain that my grandmother and I absolutely loved her. She probably thought I was a total lunatic. But, she smiled and told me to tell my grandma hello.

Funny what celebs do to an otherwise sane woman!

I met Alice Cooper at a mall in Los Angeles. He was in the food court eating a muffin! I just walked up to him and asked for his autograph. He shook my hand and signed a piece of paper. I felt like a complete dork, but I was young and didn't care at the time! I also met BB King at an airport in Spain of all places! I got his autograph too and he gave me a tiny little plastic replica of his guitar. Pretty cool!

that is so funny!!!! I went to Los Angeles for the first time as a teenager and my bff and I were looking for celebities the whole time. When we went back home, int he airport we saw..that short person in Poltergeist. We walked arm to arm to say hello, but when she turned we started laughing and ran away. Dumb right. And then, when I was a teenager and 90210 was really popular, Iwent downtown New york and saw brenda( from 90210) we started running up to catch her and started full on chasing her down. Mid way through my friend and I looked at each other and said..what are we going to say anyways..and just stopped running. Embarrassing:)

hahahah that hilarious! i couldn't see you getting nervous like that...your so confident! but i bet anyone would do the same to a celeberity. katherine heigle (not sure how it's spelled) was on our snow skiing trip and i didn't even say one word to her! probably cause she was rude to my dad so she didn't deserve my attention. lol my dad didn't know who she was. he was actually just talking with josh kelley, yep her hubby and an artist, and she didnt even look at my dad. wow none of this matters. haha congrats on the super awesome photo shoot though!
